This diagram illustrates the three main groups who will be on Earth during the Great Tribulation:
- The Woman (Israel)
- The Saints (The Christians)
- The Gentiles / Nations (Pagans)
The Woman (Israel) gave birth to a male child (Jesus) who was snatched up to heaven. The Woman, pursued by a dragon, fled to the wilderness where she was taken care of for 1260 days (time, times and half a time). The dragon was enraged at the Woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring; those who keep God’s commands and hold fast to their testimony about Jesus. (Revelation Chapter 12)
God’s Holy People (The Saints) are persecuted for 42 months (1260 days) by the Beast who had been given power to make war against them and conquer them by the dragon.
“If anyone is to go into captivity, into captivity they will go. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, with the sword they will be killed.” This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of God’s people. (Revelation Chapter 13)
The Gentiles / Nations (Pagans) are those who do not believe. Most will worship the Beast and accept his mark. They will be his intruments for waging war against the saints. They will trample the Holy City for 42 months. (Revelation 11: 2) Some will refuse to worship the beast and will help the Christians. (Matthew Chapter 25)
The Church will be raptured after 1260 days when the seventh trumpet sounds. This coincides with the seventh seal being opened revealing who is in the Little Scroll (the Book of Life).
The 144000 taken from the 12 tribes of Israel were sealed and protected during the 1260 days of the Great Tribulation. They are intimately related to the Woman who was pursued by the Dragon in Revelation chapter 12. They will also be protected from God’s Wrath which is about to be poured out as the seventh trumpet sounds.
God will pour out the seven bowls of his wrath on the Nations of the Earth in the 75 days that follow the rapture of the church.
God will separate the Nations into the Sheep (who were kind to God’s people) and the Goats (who persecuted God’s people).
Then the Millennium will begin
